The following is from the Biomimetic Materials for Pathogen Neutralization project funded by the
DARPA Unconventional Pathogen Countermeasures Program. Robert Ezzell (founder of Virtual Science),
directed the Computer Design Group and managed testing studies at Ft. Detrick, MD for this project.



Fabricated face mask cassettes containing geodesic scaffolds using laser-based computer-aided design and manufacturing.  


Developed a porous bioactive hydrogel coating that efficiently traps and kills bacteria.  
Demonstrated lateral diffusion of bacteriocidal UV light from surface-modified optical fibers.
